Why use Absolute Translations?
Certified translations play an important part in bridging the bureaucratic gap between Singapore and countries as they enable authorities to read official documents in English.
Documents that require certified translation services are usually needed for submission to official authorities such as courts and government agencies.
In such cases, individuals that are submitting their personal documents such as birth certificates, work permits and any other official documents require official endorsements for their translated copies as proof that it was done by an accredited translation company and translator who has translated the documents to the best of their ability.
We provide accurate and efficient certified translation services for official documentation.
At Absolute Translations, our certified translation services are accepted by the government agencies in Singapore. We can provide the complete package – a certificate of translation by a Notary Public or a Commissioner for Oaths, our company stamp and the translator’s signature as well as a signature by a staff member as an official endorsement.
It is important to verify with the government agency what level of certification is required for your translation.
Certified translation services in Singapore include:
- Birth Certificates
- Marriage Certificates
- Divorce Certificates
- Education Transcripts
- Immigration Documents
- Legal Documentation
- Court Submissions
- Licences such as driving licence etc.
- Tax Payment Records
- Any other official document required by the Government
The purpose of notary certification is to provide an additional level of assurance regarding the accuracy and authenticity of the translated document.
It helps to ensure that the translation can be trusted and can be accepted by government authorities, courts, educational institutions, and other entities that may require official translations.
Notary Translations
Notary certified translations refer to translated documents that have been certified by a Notary Public. They are often required for legal, official, or administrative purposes such as for the ICA, Immigration and Checkpoint Authority in Singapore. ICA require personal certificates such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, academic transcripts, legal contracts, and other similar materials to be notarised for submission.
Notarised translations involve the following process:
1
Translation
A professional translator translates the original document into the target language. The translator must have a strong command of both the source and target languages to accurately convey the content.
2
Certification
Once the translation is complete, the translator prepares a certification statement declaring that the translation is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge and ability. This statement is usually included on a separate page or attached to the translated document.
3
Notarisation
The certified translation is then taken by the translator to a notary public who verifies the identity of the translator and witnesses their signing of the certification statement. The notary public will affix their official seal or stamp on the translated document, indicating that it has been notarised.
4
Delivery
The client will receive their notarised translation by delivery or collection at our office.
